This is How to "Swing!"

Remember what the late Duke Ellington said, "It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing!" If you want to learn how to swing, you need to practice counting in the following manner.

Recite:

1 Trip-let 2 Trip-let 3 Trip-let 4 Trip-let, 1 Trip-let 2 Trip-let 3 Trip-let 4 Trip-let.

Remember, don't try to count it silently in your head... it won't work. You must count it out loud! Gradually increase the speed. Try clapping as you are counting.

Pretty soon your head will start "bobbing" from side to side! When you find yourself doing that, you're "swinging!" http://www.mrronsmusic.com/playpiano.htm
